Recognition of foreign qualifications
If you studied abroad and would like your qualifications recognised in Spain, I can help identify the appropriate procedure for your qualification and purpose: working, confirming your academic level or continuing your studies.
Services offered
- Initial assessment of your qualification, issuing country and purpose of recognition.
- Guidance on homologación, equivalencia or convalidación and the competent authority.
- Assistance with university and non-university qualifications under the applicable procedure.
- Review of your diploma and academic transcript showing subjects, course duration and hours or credits.
- Review of syllabuses and additional academic documents where required.
- Guidance on apostille or legalisation and coordination of official translations where necessary.
- Preparation and submission of homologación or equivalencia applications with the appropriate authorisation.
- Application monitoring and responses to requests for additional documents.
For university qualifications, homologación relates to access to certain regulated professions; equivalencia recognises the academic level and does not by itself authorise practice in those professions. Partial recognition of studies (convalidación) is handled by the university where you wish to continue studying. The procedure, documents and any additional requirements are assessed individually. Decisions and processing times depend on the competent authority.
